Pharmaceuticals, beverages, toys, furniture, software, electronics -- you name a brand niche and it has most likely fallen victim to counterfeiting. The International Chamber of Commerce estimates that the counterfeiting industry comprises five to seven percent of global trade and is worth roughly US$ 450 to 500 billion.There are so many fabulous handbags and accessories to choose from, that it's hard to have just one favorite but who says that you have to? Despite it's vintage age yet excellent condition, the handbag's design (and style) is timeless which is why we love it. Selling knock-off designer goods is hardly unusual online: A cursory Google search turned up thousands of sites hawking imitation designer bags and clothing.

The fashion maven's luxury design house this week sued an Eagan couple and a Shoreview woman in U.S. District Court, accusing the three of selling counterfeit Chanel purses from their online "wholesale warehouse" store. The suit alleges the site sells purses that exactly or nearly copy Chanel's trademark symbols and purses. The three knew they were misleading the public about the authenticity of the purses, adorned with the overlapping double "C" logo, according to the lawsuit. Neither the Johnstons nor Nelson returned phone calls seeking comment Wednesday, but Boutique Annemarie LLC is registered with the Minnesota Secretary of State's office and located at the Johnstons' Ticonderoga Trail home.
